Carter Weiss

Carter is an experienced entrepreneur and investor with over 20 years in venture and growth equity. Before co-founding Silas Capital, he co-founded Built NY Inc, where he served as CEO for seven years, growing sales from zero to $30 million on an initial equity investment of just $1.5 million and helping the brand reach over 50 countries with retailers including Amazon, Apple, MoMA, Target and Whole Foods. Built was acquired by Lifetime Brands, Inc. (Nasdaq: LCUT). Before that, Carter spent seven years as an early internet venture capitalist with Hollinger Capital, leading investments including Shopping.com (acquired by eBay). Carter holds a BA in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University.

Frank has over 14 years of experience as a consumer growth investor, with prior experience as a generalist VC. He focuses on all areas across consumer, with investments including established brands like Boll & Branch, Bare Snacks and ILIA Beauty, as well as newer brands like Mimikai. Before co-founding Silas Capital, he was at EuclidSR Partners, formed by Euclid Partners and SR One (GlaxoSmithKline's corporate VC arm), where he was involved in the success of investments including SkinMedica (acquired by Allergan) and FatWire (acquired by Oracle). Before that, he co-founded and led strategy for MatchMetrix, a consumer analytics start-up. He began his career at Neuberger Berman after earning his AB in Economics from the University of Chicago.

Brian has over 15 years of experience as an investor and advisor in the consumer sector. Previously at Tengram Capital Partners, a private equity firm investing exclusively in branded consumer and retail, he completed and managed investments in brands including NEST Fragrances, Laura Geller and DevaCurl. Prior to Tengram, he was at Catterton Partners (L Catterton), where he was involved in personal care and branded food investments, such as Frédéric Fekkai and Brach's Confections. Brian began his career in investment banking, in the Consumer/Retail group at Lazard. He earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from the University of Virginia.

Mary has over 8 years of experience as an advisor, investor and operator in the consumer sector. Most recently she was a Senior Associate at CAVU Consumer Partners, a growth equity firm investing across Food & Beverage, Beauty & Personal Care and Pet, where she partnered with portfolio companies including Topicals, SkinnyDipped and Kettle & Fire. Prior to CAVU, she was part of the commercial finance and strategy team at Vita Coco (Nasdaq: COCO). Mary began her career as an investment banking analyst in the Consumer group at Rothschild & Co, and earned her BA in Finance from Georgetown University.

Mary began her career as an investment banking analyst in the Consumer group at Rothschild & Co, and earned her BA in Finance from Georgetown University.

Greg is a CPA with 7 years of experience in private equity. He was most recently Vice President of Finance at 747 Capital, a NYC-based private equity firm focused on the North American small-cap buyout market, where he was responsible for portfolio valuation, fund reporting and investor allocations. Prior to that, Greg spent three years at Deloitte & Touche as an auditor in its financial services practice and became a Certified Public Accountant in 2013. Greg graduated with a BA in Accounting from Boston College.

Greg is a CPA with 7 years of experience in private equity.
